ER Update

So I never got around to posting Mother's Day pictures. We had a long day at Children's Hospital in Boston. As I was getting the kids ready, I noticed Mallory had what looked like a hernia. Natalie has had surgery for a hernia before so we were pretty sure that was what we were dealing with. Plenty of surgeons and hours later, they decided she has multiple swollen glands. They sent her home and she'll be seeing her pediatrician a little later today. Thankfully she is ok, but what a day! Thank you to Auntie Kelli for picking the twins up and watching them for the day. I'm sure they had so much fun! Off to the doctors.

I'm hoping to get pictures up this evening.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there! Today is your day to relax and let your husbands pick up the slack. I woke up to an iced coffee from Dunkin Donuts and Jay doing the laundry. Does it get any better than that? I'll post some pictures a little later...

I wonder if I could reach that...

uh oh...she caught me...look cute

If you didn't notice from the photos above, Mallory is actually standing on her activity center, not the floor. You may wonder why anything would surprise me after having 2 year old twins, but Mallory always does. Whether it's rocking her chair back on two legs or pulling a stunt like this, the twins never did anything like it. It's funny because you'll turn your head for seconds and she's climbed a table and the twins are always there, not joining in but pleading with her to stop and come down. She really is the little daredevil of the family and it makes me and the twins nervous. Gotta keep an eye on this one (at all times!)

Today was a big day for Mallory. She learned how to blow kisses and drink out of a straw all in one day! She's growing so fast.

Just a funny tidbit...

The girls and I were doing our usual nightly ritual...prepare dinner, sit down to watch a cooking show and wait for Daddy to come home. It's funny to me that they actually enjoy watching these shows but it keeps them quiet, so who am I to complain. This particular show was Rachel Ray. As I'm getting up to check on dinner I hear, "I'm just going to pop this under the broiler and I'll be right back." Next I see Natalie, arms up in front of the television, yelling, "Ugh, are you kidding me Rachel Ray?" I never knew just how serious this was to her. We may have a future Food Network chef on our hands!

P.S. Never, and I repeat, NEVER interfere with their Barefoot Contessa either. All they have to hear is her theme music and they are running from the other room yelling, "coooooooooking!" I've got to stop TiVo'ing it for them.

Now if I could just get them to all fall asleep at the same time...

Just a quick hello...

Not much going on around here. I'm glad the weekend is here again. I worked today and Jay is working tonight so I am really looking forward to some family time tomorrow. Sundays seem to be our day to catch up around here. I hope for a relaxing, quiet day tomorrow...and some nice weather wouldn't hurt. By the way, Jay and I are placing an offer on a house tomorrow. That is all I will say for now because I don't want to get too excited. Keep your fingers crossed!

Just a picture to brighten your day...it sure brightened mine!

Two posts in one day!

Guess who can climb the slide now? So proud of herself!

I guess this is Natalie's new pose

Mallory had her one year checkup this afternoon. Not much to report. She is in the 45 percentile for weight and 50 percentile for height. Which makes her pretty average aside from her head circumference (and I don't want to see any funny remarks in the comments about Mommy's head circumference.) While at the doctor's office, the nurse whom we've never met said, "Wow...they (the twins) look so much a like...you'd almost think they were identical twins." I then had to explain that they are identical but different sizes. It was too funny. There's no mistaking they are identical twins in the photo below. Even I may have trouble distinguishing between the two someday!

As Nana Connolly would say, "Two is better than one!"
